Freedom Range Farm Guiding Principles
Transparency At Freedom Range Farm, we go an extra step to guarantee customer satisfaction and product integrity with our Open Door Policy. Anyone is welcome to come visit the farm anytime to see for yourself the Freedom Range difference. Anyone who wonders if we are using chemical fertilizer, pesticides, or antibiotics is welcome to come out unannounced anytime and check us out.
Grass-Based It is our goal for every animal to be fed as much fresh forage as its full genetic potential allows. This means no grain to herbivores, and only supplemental organic grain is provided for pigs, chickens, and turkeys.
Local We don't ship food anywhere. Everyone would benefit if we would all source our food locally. Our limit for making deliveries is a three hour drive from the farm. Outside of this area we encourage folks to find their local grass based producers and patronize them.
Land Healing More than anything else, we're really into the land healing business. By copying the patterns of animal movements in nature, we heal the landscape, provide wildlife habitat, feed the earthworms, and sequester carbon into the soil, all while providing nutritionally superior food products. Stimulating healthy soil is our first priority. Healthy soil creates healthy food.
Beyond Organic Our farm standards meet and in many ways exceed the government organic certification program. We use no chemicals, vaccinations, antibiotics or any unnatural inputs of any kind. Rather by proper, natural production the need for these are eliminated. In the rare case where a sick animal needs antibiotics we will give the needed medication and then remove the animal from the program when it gets well.
